Three Lakes Water & Sanitation
The Three Lakes Water and Sanitation District is seeking to hire a District Manager by no later than October 2, 2017. Sally Blea, its longtime Manager of 34 years, has announced her retirement. The District is a quasi-municipal corporation and political subdivision, located in the northeastern portion of Grand County, Colorado, immediately west of the front range of the Rocky Mountains. The area is within a two and one-half hour drive from Denver, Colorado. The 'three lakes? (Grand, Shadow Mountain and Granby) situated in the mountain-bordered basin of the north fork of the Colorado River, are the major attractions of the area. The actual boundaries of the District contain 59.25 square miles more or less, and includes the resort town of Grand Lake. Grand Lake is situated at 8437 feet elevation and serves as an entry point to Rocky Mountain National Park, which surrounds the lake and the town on three sides. It is an historic mountain town in the heart of the Rockies, where snow-capped mountains are a daily sight to visitors and residents alike. The District maintains a business office at 1111 County Road 48, just outside the town of Grand Lake and a sewer facility off of Highway 34 approximately 7 miles south of the District office. The sewer facility was initially constructed in 1982 and revamped in 2003 to a 2.0 MGD Sequencing Batch Reactor Activated Sludge Wastewater Treatment Plant. The District provides a service of sanitation only and services 3000 residential and 141 commercial properties, and employs 8 full time employees. The District also manages two small water districts.Hired by the Board of Directors, the District Manager serves as Chief Executive Officer of the District and implements Board policy. The District Manager determines and executes the organization's administrative, financial and operational policies; and further manages the administration of the business affairs of the District.
