Lab/Anatolian Shepherd Sweet Riggs was abandoned as a very young puppy to a local shelter and later adopted by a family who only had him for 7 months.  His owner then relinquished him due to financial and landlord issues. This cutie is about 70 pounds, about a year old and we are guessing some sort of lab mix, maybe with some Anatolian Shepherd? A hugger and a leaner this guy is soooo special!  A very happy dog with a happy-go-lucky personality.  Riggs smiles all the time.  He loves to play with other dogs and people but if no one wants to play, he will entertain himself for hours.  So fun to watch!  This pup loves life and wants to live it fully.  He loves hiking, saying hi to everyone (dogs and peeps), being outside, playing, snuggling in bed, going on car rides - he wants to do it all!  We definitely would love to see him go to a home with another playful dog as his foster brother and he have so much fun together.  Riggs is better with dogs similar in size to him, he can be a little overwhelming to small dogs and he will do best in a home without a cat.  He is way too interested in them.
His previous owner described him as: sweet, loving, curious, friendly to all, a big baby.  Loves fetch, tug-o-war with other dogs, riding in the car, meeting everyone, running, playing and chasing crows.

His foster mom adores him, this is what she says about him:
Riggs definitely needs someone active and a good, consistent leader.  He’s good with kids, but preferably older kids (I think he must’ve had his tail pulled on often because he was very sensitive about his tail being touched. Now, it’s not a problem, but at first...) He definitely needs a brother or sister with whom he can play. I would hate to see him be an only dog.   Maybe not small dogs, though, as he still thinks they’re toys.
He listens really, well, but his only downfall is he won’t listen on a trail if people and/or dogs are ahead of us. (He’s getting so much better at this, however) He will take off to greet them, want to play with the dog, and then follow those humans and dogs.  He’s incredibly social and literally makes friends with every dog he meets within a few minutes of meeting them.
He’s great on leash.
He is a barker and that is something we’ve been addressing as well.
Literally, he wants to play ALL THE TIME, but will calm down quickly when expected to do so.  He rides great in the car with no issues.
He’s such an incredible love bug.

We love Riggs and are looking for that special person/family to give him the best forever home, he will absolutely reward you with 100% of his heart!  If you are interested, please go to
